| I am actually in Elk Grove, an hour from DublinI am the 2nd owner of this Niki Lauder special edition # 71 for about 18 years and put only about 20K miles on it. Purchased from the original owner from Santa Rosa. Mechanically very sound; no engine work has been done to the best of my knowledge. Runs very strong. Serviced and maintained by Barber’s Shop in Sacramento. I have kept all the receipts except when I moved in 2001, I have lost all the papers . So I have all the records from 2001 on. The pink slip shows the date 1993 when I transferred the title from my ex to me. It passes smog with flying colors. Top is in great shape except there is a slit/cut that has been professionally repaired. Been garaged 95% of the time. Never seen much rain and let alone snow or other stuff. Body is straight with no rust at all. No accidents in my possession, still have the original paint but the right door upper portion seemed to be repainted at some point. There is a door dink, a knick above the battery mounting rod. A few years ago some punk a__ seemed to have roller bladed over the front end and part of the hood; the dent is not too bad but noticeable. Interior is okay; just the normal wear and tear from age.Here is what you also need to know: Burns about ½ quart of oil per 3,000 miles. Slight oil leak at the engine from the rear seal, I believe. Can use a new U-joint. The usual characteristic 2nd gear grind when down shift at high speed.More pics are at: www.1978alfa.myphotoalbum.com. I was going to restore it but I just could not find the time. I have and will provide any info you may want. It’s been a very fun car and quite reliable. I had no problems with it at all (as long as you keep an Italian car well-maintained). I just want to give it a good home. Any questions or requests? Feel free to email me.
